Children's Camps

A children's camp abroad is far more than just «sending your child away for two weeks». It is a chance to combine study, active recreation and lively interaction with peers from a wide range of countries. Such programmes are usually run at international schools or specialised centres, and they operate year-round — all it takes is the desire and a school break.
When to go and what to choose
- Summer, naturally, is the peak season. These are intensive language courses blended with sports, hikes, creative workshops and excursions. Most of these camps are in the United Kingdom, the USA, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey and the UAE.
- In winter, the focus shifts to holiday programmes with skiing and snowboarding — here Switzerland, France, Germany and Korea are second to none. Add to that excursions and cultural events. Your child will have a great time and stay in their learning rhythm, even if the break is a short one.
- There are also autumn and spring sessions — short courses that help keep language skills sharp throughout the year. They are especially good in warm countries such as Turkey, the UAE and China, where the climate makes it comfortable to study even in the off-season.
How it benefits your child
A camp is a gentle but reliable way to nudge a child out of their comfort zone. There, they learn to be independent, to make friends without their parents' help, to negotiate and to solve small problems on their own. Confidence grows, and with it the motivation to study — the language turns from an abstract school subject into a tool for communication. On top of that, their horizons broaden in a way no textbook could match: first-hand encounters with another culture, traditions, food and humour.
And, of course, the international environment. Your child will play, quarrel and make up with children from Japan, Italy and Brazil — all while speaking English (or French, or German) without shyness or hesitation.
What parents from Kyrgyzstan should keep in mind
The good news: programmes are tailored to the season, climate and cultural specifics of the country. But there are nuances you should know about in advance. In the UAE and Turkey, for example, there are many camps with direct flights from Kyrgyzstan and no lengthy visa hassle. Europe and the USA, on the other hand, require a more serious approach: insurance, notarised travel consent forms, and sometimes interviews. We know all of this and help with the paperwork so that the trip goes smoothly — with no surprises at the border or in a foreign country.
